John Frawley

John Frawley was born in Redcliffe in 1965. The younger brother of Rod Frawley, John showed his mettle as a junior by reaching the final at Wimbledon only to be beaten by future world champion Stefen Edberg. In 1982 playing with Pat Cash, he won both the Wimbledon and French Open junior doubles titles.

He reached a career-high singles ranking of World no. 35 in 1988 and played in the 1988 US Open reaching the 4th round.

He twice reached the fourth round of the Australia Open, in 1984 and 1988, defeating seeded players Mike Bauer and Peter Lundgren.

He played his last match during the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters 1989 tournament
